"The knowledge that Erin & Heather both possess is second to none."
With Erin as your guide and trusted safari driver you are guaranteed to experience all the layers of wonder that the safari life has to offer. Having worked hands-on with animals for the past 11 years, Erin understands their behaviour and is a firm believer in ethical and respectful guiding. After being on safari with Erin it's impossible not to catch the safari bug.
Erin grew up in Scotland but her heart was always in South Africa. Erin has dual citizenship as her family originates from South Africa.
At 17 Erin left school and went on a one month volunteering experience to Moholoholo wildlife rehab centre in South Africa. She ended up staying and working there for the next four years.
During this time Erin had the privilege to care for and release many African species, but the one that stole Erin's heart was the black rhino calf called Landela.
Over this time Erin's knowledge and passion for the African wildlife grew which was supported by the qualifications she gained.
Erin is an Advanced Field Guide with special interests in birds and tracking.
In 2012 Erin came back to the UK and moved into the career of Zoo Keeping whilst continuing to revisit Africa and gain new experiences. Zoo-work has allowed Erin to learn about animals from all over the world and widen her knowledge on global conservation issues.
With Heather as your tour manager you can relax knowing that every detail of the trip will be planned to perfection and made to look effortless. Heather communicates with guests both before arrival and during your safari to ensure she understands what you want from the trip and to help you know what to expect on a Landela Safaris tour.
Heather grew up in Scotland but her education and career gave her the opportunity to live in many places around the UK. In 2013 she graduated from Swansea University with a BSc in Zoology. Since then she has had the privilege of working at various British wild animal and safari parks. She has gained experience working with many dangerous animals such as gorilla, hippo and sea lion. Working in these positions has put her in volatile, high pressure situations. Keeping people safe in these circumstances is a vital skill that Heather brings with her on every tour.
In 2014 Erin took Heather to visit South Africa for the first time and from that moment it has felt like her home. Landela Safaris was conceived to allow other people to experience that feeling.
In her previous customer service roles she holds all 5* TripAdvisor reviews, so you can rest assured you will be looked after extremely well on a Landela Safaris trip and made to feel safe, relaxed and comfortable.
"The only man I envy is the man who has not yet been to Africa - for he has so much to look forward to."
